Who We Are
Helping Hands – Healing Heroes (4H) is a 501 c 3 non-profit founded by a veteran who was, at one point, very close to being homeless and struggling to feed his family. Many of the meals for him and his young children came out of the dumpsters of restaurants; the throw-away food and trash others did not want, so he knows first-hand about food insecurity and the stressors of affordable housing.
So, with that personal experience to draw from, the founder of 4H strives to feed, clothe and house the homeless, assisting anyone in need but with a special focus and passion for fellow veterans, who face unique struggles and circumstances. While we have been helping those in need for more than 2 decades, 4H became official as a 501 c 3 nonprofit in 2020.
Since 2020 4H has collected, packaged and distributed over 500,000 pounds of food, assisting over 10,000 families. Thus far 4H has provided safe and stable housing assistance, at zero cost to the recipient, to dozens of individuals and families. With safe and stable housing and meals being provided, this has allowed our nations heroes and those less fortunate to focus on accessing the benefits they have earned and need to get things back on track.
